Inverleith in Europe
The Whitsun weekend saw Inverleith HC, represented by Colin MacBeth, (Nomads) and John Bell, (Head Coach IHC Ladies) playing for Scotland Over 35's in the Eurovets Tournament in Voordaan, Holland.
"Twenty-Six years betwen international appearances was a bit of an ask, but six weeks fitness training got me in shape to play five games in three days." says John.
"Being drawn in the same Pool Group as defending champions Holland, meant it was always going to be tough." states Colin
Playing in 28 degree heat, the entire squad was utilised and performed well against Wales and Croatia.
Qualifying second in their Pool Group, behind Holland, Scotland played cross-over games against tournament favourites, England, and a strong Russian team, to finish a creditable seventh, with Holland retaining their european vets title
