v Watsonians B      4-0

The Inverleith Lions maintained their (hopefully) unstoppable progress towards regaining the East District U14 League Championship with another two comfortable wins in very difficult (very cold and very wet!!) conditions at Meggetland this morning. They absolutley swept aside Carnegie B in the first game, with Lucy R top-scoring with 5 goals. A hat-trick from Stuart H, two from Sarah L and one from Adam L completed an emphatic 11-0 win. Watsonians B did provide slightly tougher opposition but with all 4 goals coming in the first half ( another two for Adam, one for Stuart and a well-taken goal by Laura S) the game was essentially won by halftime. The only disappointment? - no goals from Jamie Young this week - normal service has been resumed!!

Some fantastic hockey again by the whole team - the same again in two weeks' time and the title is ours!!

IHC U/14 Tigers

Tigers
Lost 6-0 to Carnegie A
Lost 2-0 to Cala A (not B)

Playing with our team based around Louise in the centre and Rosie in middle of defence, the Tigers tackled trongly but were unable to keep the ball in the Fifers half. The pressure told and Duncan was passed easily on several occasions. Eventually passes started to become more accurate and Lucy was unlucky not to score.
Our second match was against an even bigger Cala team and yet a more compact formation and more concentration held the score to 0-0 at half time. Ewen, Alastair and Iona played strongly through the middle whilst Christopher, Niall, Molly and Jenna looked good on their open sticks. Much improvement from the first game and definitely looking to repeat the performance again in a fortnight.
