IHC U/18 Girls - Withdrawal from Cup Competition

Update to IHC U/18 Girls

Hello Folks,

The organisation of the U/18 Cup Competition this season has been more than a little time consuming.

To date :
  • The U/18 Girls have only played 2 games against the same team ie Hillhead
  • The next round of three games were snowed off.
  • There were no games scheduled for the u/18 Cup on Sunday 21st March when we were free.
  • This Sunday 28th orginally had us scheduled for 2 games. Cala postponed as it was a International Training Sunday as well and they had 9 players unavailable.
  • We had 3 players unavailable.BUT..
  • On Tuesday the thought was to still to play St Georges and request Kelburne who were only playing St Georges to play Inverleith as one of the outstanding games from the snowed off sunday!!
  • On Wednesday, I agreed to change the fixture schedule to accommodate the St Georges coach attending Scotland Senior Training at Peffermill.
  • To date we have had no reply from Kelburne
  • The outstanding Fixtures Kelburne X 2, Cala x 2 & St Gorges x 2 have to be completed by next weekend. Admittedly we could play a one off winner takes all hence that would be 3 games.
  • Cala have offered to play on Thursday 1st April!! at Meggetland.
  • The Scotland U/16 Girls will have international games next weekend.

My thanks to all the Inverleith Ladies who have responded one way or another. We almost have a full team but no GK for Sunday.

The SHU have stated that all the U/18 Girls cup fixtures would have to be completed by 1st April. The Grand Final is on 18th April. Time is against us and we are now going into the Easter Break.

Taking all the above into account and seeing no other option available, Inverleith U/18 Girls will reluctantly withdraw from the competition.
