The Ladies section was very busy during the summer transfer window. Vice President Rosina Barton takes a look at some of the big money signings turning Purple for the 19/20 season.
KATH SOMERVILLE
Former England U21 Goalkeeper and University of Birmingham First team player Kath recently moved to Edinburgh to be part of a graduate scheme at the Royal Bank of Scotland. After graduating with a degree in Chemistry, Kath decided to try something new and take on this adventure to Edinburgh, and we are very glad she did! We can’t wait to play alongside Kath this season!

LAUREN EDWARDS
After graduating from Glasgow University with a degree in Business Management, Lauren decided to go and travel! Now back from her adventures, Lauren is working as a marketing executive for Mazers. Having previously played for other clubs in Edinburgh, we are so happy that Lauren has decided to make her return to hockey with Inverleith this season! She looks good in purple!

KIRSTY MCKEAN
After graduating from Glasgow University with a degree in Business and Management with Geography, Kirsty decided to take a year to travel the world, visiting Australia, New Zealand and Fiji among other places! She is now working for Queen Margaret University doing marketing and we are delighted she has decided to join Inverleith as she makes her return to hockey in Edinburgh!

KATE SMITH
Kate also studies at Glasgow University and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Since graduating, Kate has been working as a carer at the Royal Blind Care Home in Braeside! Kate also has a famous cat… he lives in Roslin Chapel and has his own hashtag on Instagram!! Before playing her hockey at Glasgow Uni, Kate received caps for Scotland as an U18 Goalkeeper, and we can’t wait to have her join us!

EMMA FRASER
Emma has played hockey since she was in Primary 6 and is still playing 7 years later for her school St Georges where she is the Captain of the 1st XI. As well as school hockey, she also represented East District and currently plays for the Scotland U18 team, as she did last season. Emma is in her last year of school and we are so excited to see what she does in the future and that she is playing in purple this season!

AILSA MCLEAN
Ailsa has recently moved to Edinburgh since graduating from the University of Glasgow! As well as playing lots of hockey for the University, Ailsa graduated with a degree in Geography and Politics. Alongside playing in purple, Ailsa is currently working at Boots! We are so excited to have her join us this season!

JENNY BRUNTON
Jenny grew up in the Scottish Borders and went on to study at Aberdeen University and play hockey there too! After graduating with a degree in Law, she is now working as a trainee solicitor! Having moved to Edinburgh for this job, we are very happy that Jenny has decided to don the purple and play for us this season!
