Volunteer on-pitch Helper
- As a volunteer on-pitch helper, you’ll assist the lead coach with setting out, tidying equipment and delivering games or drills to groups of 10 or fewer
- encouraging players, helping improve their technique
- making sessions fun.
You will have had at least a full season’s of experience helping on-pitch or may be an experienced coach in another sport or a teacher
- You will help the lead coach to deliver their session plan to groups of youth players or adults
- You design and deliver simple practices for groups of up to 12 players
- managing game day teams for youth or adult groups

- Introduction to Hockey Coaching workshop (min age 16)
- This role can be paid if you have completed GB Hockey’s Sessional Coach Course, or hold a UKCC Level 1 coaching qualification.
Experienced coach who leads on-pitch coaching sessions for an age group or team.
- You have at least one full season of working as an assistant coach
- Planning and delivering coaching sessions for groups of up to 30 young players or adults
- Managing assistant coaches, working with others to plan the team’s season.
- This role can be paid if you are UKCC Level 2 coach or have completed GB Hockey’s Club Coach course, or you are a qualified teacher
- You will have up to date first aid and child protection training
- You will be qualified and be insured to lead a coaching session on your own or with assistants
You will lead the player development for an age group of up to 80 young players, managing lead and assistant coaches.
You are responsible of season planning, player progression and team selection. You will work closely with the fixtures and membership secretaries to ensure equitable and enjoyable player involvement in training and matches, so that we get it right for each player.
Qualifications
You will be a UKCC Level 2 coach, or completed GB Hockey’s Club Coach course.
You will have first aid and child protection training and be insured to coach
As Head coach of an Inverleith HC section you will be responsible for the player, coach and officials development of one of our hockey sections:
- Men’s Outdoor
- Women’s Outdoor
- Men’s Indoor
- Women’s Indoor
- Youth
